Einde soft launch periode

Op 1 oktober is de soft launch van de implementatie van de FMD beëindigd. De IGJ start op dit moment met toezichtactiviteiten, die in eerste instantie gericht zijn op stakeholders die nog niet zijn aangesloten, niet of nauwelijks scannen of het NMVS vervuilen. Volgens IGJ zal dat in eerste instantie stimulerend van aard zijn, tenzij de inspectie grote risico’s ziet voor de patiëntveiligheid. Apotheekhoudenden en groothandels moeten alleen bij een niet-pluisgevoel de verpakkingen met een alert tegenhouden en melden bij de IGJ. Hiermee volgt Nederland de Belgische aanpak die de soft launch periode vorige maand beëindigde.

Gebruik van data in het NMVS

De NMVO staat voor een zorgvuldig gebruik van farmaceutische data. Alleen gegevens die bijdragen aan het tegengaan van vervalsingen in de keten worden uitgewisseld met bevoegde instanties. Na een alert doet de NMVO eerst zelf onderzoek en als zij een vervalsing niet kan uitsluiten, dan waarschuwt zij de IGJ, het Europees Geneesmiddelenbureau en de Commissie zoals in het dataprotocol van de NMVO is opgenomen.

Aantal alerts daalt

De inspanningen van gebruikers van het NMVS leveren steeds meer resultaat op. De daling van alerts is nu ook duidelijk terug te zien in de cijfers: voor het eerst kwam het aantal alerts onder de de 3% van de scans. Tegelijk zien we dat het aantal scannende eindgebruikers en daarmee het totale aantal scans stijgt in vergelijking met de vorige weken. Afgelopen maandag was er een record van net geen 750.000 scans. Toch blijven we teveel scanner issues zien, daarom blijven we hier aandacht aan besteden in onze communicatie.

Testcode

Vorige week plaatsten we de tweede testcode. Deze week hebben we een nieuwe 2D data matrix om uw scanners te testen. We testen met deze 2D code de meest voorkomende fouten van de afgelopen weken. We merken dat in de praktijk de resultaten binnen een bedrijf nog wel eens verschillen, ook met identieke scanners en systemen. Het is daarom belangrijk om deze test bij al uw scanners uit te voeren.

  1. Controleer of de scanner is aangesloten op de computer waarop u gaat testen.
  2. Op verzoek een kleine code, printen is wellicht nodig
  3. Open Kladblok of Word. DUS NIET TESTEN IN UW AIS!

Een iets grotere variant, mocht bovenstaande 2D code niet werken:

 

Krijgt u een ander resultaat of afwijkende tekens: neem contact op met uw hardware- en software leverancier. De kans is groot dat er in de afstemming van uw apparatuur en software iets niet goed zit. Door deze problemen worden veel onterechte alerts veroorzaakt.

End of soft launch period

The soft launch of the FMD implementation was terminated on the 1st of October. The IGJ is currently starting monitoring activities, which are initially aimed at stakeholders who are not yet connected, do not or hardly scan or pollute the NMVS. According to IGJ, this will initially be stimulating in nature, unless the inspection sees major risks for patient safety. Pharmacists and wholesalers only have to stop processing packages with an alert and report it to the IGJ if there are serious doubts about the authenticity of the medicine. With this approach, The Netherlands follows Belgium, that ended the soft launch period last month.

Use of data from the NMVS

The NMVO stands for the careful use of pharmaceutical data. Only data that contribute to combating falsifications in the chain is exchanged with competent authorities. After an alert, the NMVO first conducts its own investigation and if it cannot rule out a falsification, it warns the IGJ, the European Medicines Agency and the Commission, as laid down in the NMVO data protocol.

Number of alerts is falling

The efforts of users of the NMVS are increasingly delivering results. The decrease in alerts can now also be clearly seen in the figures: for the first time, the number of alerts fell below the 3% of the scans. At the same time, we see that the number of active end users and the total number of scans are increasing compared to the previous weeks. Last Monday there was a record of just under 750,000 scans. Nevertheless, we continue to see too many scanner issues, which is why we continue to pay attention to this in our communications.

Test code

Last week we placed the second test code. This week we have a new 2D data matrix to test your scanners. With this 2D code we test the most common errors of the past weeks. We notice that in practice the results within a company sometimes differ, even with identical scanners and systems. It is therefore important to perform this test on all your scanners.

If you get a different result or different characters: contact yourhardware and software supplier. There is a good chance that there is something wrong with the alignment of your equipment and software. Many unauthorized alerts are caused by these problems.
